  • Top venue for CSEd research
  • Focus on high quality research
• SIGCSE: ACM Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education
  • Mix of high-quality research and “practitioner” report (which are generally of lower quality from a research perspective)
• ITiCSE: ACM Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education Conference
  • Smaller European version of SIGCSE
• TOCE: ACM Transactions on Computing Education
  • Journal (as opposed to conference)
• ToE: IEEE Transactions on Education
  • “education in electrical and electronics engineering, computer engineering, computer science, and other fields within the scope of interest of IEEE”

Ed-Focused Venues (that include some CSEd)

• EDM: Int’l Conference on Educational Data Mining
  • General education conference that may include some CSEd
• L@S: ACM Conference on Learning at Scale
  • MOOC or similar focus

HCI-Focused Venues (that include some CSed)

• CHI: ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems
  • Top HCI conference
  • Not specifically focused on CSEd
  • But frequently includes a little CSEd research
• VL/HCC: IEEE Symposium on Visual Languages and Human-Centric Computing
  • High-quality HCI-ish conference
  • Not entirely about CSEd, but frequently includes it
